John Derrick Potter

John Derrick Potter, 46, of Hazel Green, Alabama, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025.
John was a lifelong resident of Madison County, Alabama. He was a proud graduate of Hazel Green High School. He had a passion for sports and was a big fan of Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves. John was an easy person to be around. He had a kind heart and had the ability to connect with others and help in any way he possibly could.
John is survived by his mother, Vicky Winsett, and her companion, Jimmy Gowan; his daughter, Violet; his brother, Tracy Warden; and his friend, Tina Buchanan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Greg Potter; his grandparents, Lawrence and Beatrice Potter, and Robert and Ada Winsett; as well as his uncle, Danny Potter, and aunt, Debbie Potter.
The family will receive friends at Hazel Green Funeral Home on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service, officiated by Greg Morrow, will follow at 4:00 PM.
