Johnny King

April 24, 1947 — December 9, 2023

John Ray "Johnny" King of Hazel Green passed away on Saturday evening.  He was 76.   Mr. King was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee and in his early years, he was an auto mechanic.  He had retired from Martin Industries after 35 years. After retiring, he enjoyed working at New Market School for 17 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ray Dean King, by his parents, John Roy King & Lurlean King, and by two brothers and six sisters.

Surviving family members include his wife of 52 years, Christine King, his daughter, Tina Walker (Tim), and his sisters, Paula Phillips and Brenda Hovis (Kenneth).    He is also survived by five grandchildren: Christina King, James Ray Walker (Courtney), Johnny Walker (Madison), Judith King, and Kayleen King; Seven great-grandchildren:  Braston, River, Riley, Jamison, Gunner, Raiden, and Owen.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 9pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1pm at the funeral home with Brother Ben May officiating.  Burial will follow the service and will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
