Joseph "Joe" Lance Calloway

Joseph Lance "Joe" Calloway, 69, of Gurley, passed away on Wednesday.

He had retired from the Madison County Commission after 31 years of service.  He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Jereld Calloway;   His parents, Dewey & Della Calloway;  His sisters, Margie and Bessie;  His brother, James D. Calloway.

Surviving family members include the mother of his children, Elaine Calloway;   His daughter, Cristy Calloway;  His son, Zachery Calloway;  His grandchildren, Natalie Hurd, Britten Berry, Tristan Calloway, and Randi Calloway.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Sunday at 2pm at the funeral home with Rev. Rob Peavey officiating.  Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, Alabama.
