Lemuel E Boggs Sr
October 23, 1921 — February 6, 2018
Lemuel E. Boggs, Sr., 96 of Huntsville, went home to be with his Saviour and his family on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
Born on October 23, 1921, Lemuel joined the Navy and served his country as a gunner in World War II. Upon returning home from the war, he married his love, Ruby Louise Franklin, and remained faithfully married for 76 years.
Lemuel retired as a machinist for the U.S. Army Missile Command and received an award for his work for NASA space flight rockets.
He faithfully served his Lord as a Deacon, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Lemuel was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph P. and Flora Cantrell Boggs and his brothers Levi, Willard, Basil, Elmer, Cornelius and sisters, Thelma Cothren, and Celia Towery. He is survived by his only son Lemuel E. "Lane" Boggs, Jr., and his wife Jeana Sowell Boggs; grandchildren: Lemuel Andrew "Landry" Boggs and his wife Melissa Boresma; Leighton Aaron Boggs and his wife Lindsey Cope; and great grandchildren, Colton, Jamison, Jayce, Dalen and Madeline.
Pallbearers will be: Landry Boggs, Leighton Boggs, Thom Tingle, Brett Milde, Matthew Spray, Stuart Spray. Honorary Pallbearers are: Larry Cothren, Colton Boggs, Jamison Boggs and Jayce Boggs.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at University Baptist Church in Huntsville, Al. Services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Christmas Section of Huntsville Memory Gardens.
