Lester A Goins

Lester Argel Goins, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed from this life on March 28, 2017, with his loving family at his side.  Lester was born April 18, 1935 in Johnson City, Tennessee to Frank and Minnie (Riddle) Goins.

Lester was preceded in death by brothers Edward and Robert (Bobby) and a sister Margaret Anna Lee Holsclaw.  His survivors are his wife of 44 years, Billie Jean (Busler) Goins, daughter Cindy and son Andy, brother John (Sheila), sister Dorothy Jones (Larry), and Elizabeth (Betty) Johnson (Steve), several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lester was a veteran of the U.S. Army, with 21 years of service,  including 3 tours in Vietnam. During his military career he received numerous awards, honors, and commendations. In his retirement years Lester enjoyed golf and time spent with family.

The Goins family wishes to express a special thank you to Amedisys Hospicare and Hazel Green Funeral Home for their compassionate care and understanding during this difficult time.

The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 East Watauga Ave, Johnson City, TN 37601 on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 11am until 1pm.  A graveside service will follow at Mountain Home National Cemetery  at 1:45 p.m., with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating.
