Linda Warden Mcelyea
June 27, 1943 — May 19, 2019
Linda Warden McElyea, 75, of Hazel Green, passed away on Sunday while surrounded by her loving family.
Linda was a Christian, a very active member of the Hazel Green First Baptist Church family, and was an active supporter of the American Cancer Society/Relay for Life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis McElyea, and by her parents, Douglas and Alta Warden.
Surviving family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Mark Hicks; Her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Somer McElyea; Her grandchildren: Brandon and Chelsea Hicks, Dustin Hicks, Savannah McElyea and Sydney McElyea; Her great-granddaughter, Rylan Hicks; Her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Kathy Warden. Her aunt, Zelma Grun; Her nieces and nephew, Joely Drinkard, Jamie Grant and Keith Warden. Her sisters-in-law, Rosemary Miller and Sharon Collier.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.
