Loyd G. WardApril 5, 1953 ~ January 21, 2009Mr. Loyd G. Ward, 55, of New Market died Wednesday at his residence. Mr. Ward was a lifelong resident of New Market. He was in the home health care business for 25 years and was a member of Oakley Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Maggie Buchanan Ward; one brother, Roy Ward and one sister, Rosie Woods. Survivors include his wife, Marlene A. Ward; his children, Catrina K. Mann and Mychal, Regina F. Taylor and Todd, Shana D. Quick and Chuck; Hali B. Ward; his seven grandchildren, Trenton, Triston, Emma, Jacob, Dawson, Payton and Sophia; one brother, Charles Ward; and four sisters, Anita Berry, Mae Gifford, Mardale Owens and Barbara Scott. Special thanks to lifelong friends, Roy and Jeanette Smith.Visitation with the family will be Friday from 4 until 8 PM at the Hazel Green Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 PM at Oakley Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Hammons officiating. The body will lie in state at the church Saturday from 11:30 AM till time of service. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery. Pallbearers are Charles Wayne Campbell, Billy Edwards, Jamie Daniel, Mel Hayden, Chris Brannom and George Campbell. Visit
