Lucky Thomas

Mr. Lucky Devon Thomas of Hazel Green transcended this plane of existence to meet his Lord surrounded by family in the comfort of his home on December 8, 2024 at approximately 5:30 pm .

Lucky leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Mary Jo Thomas, 1 daughter, Lisa Marie Thomas, 5 sons: David Lee Thomas, Joseph Wayne Thomas, Jeffery Brian Thomas, Larry Allen Thomas and Kevin Devon Thomas and his wife, and a brother, Gary Steve Thomas. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Devon Thomas, his mother, Opal Irene Thomas, his brother, Homer Alonzo Thomas, his sister, Linda Gail Elledge, and a son, Michael Devon Thomas.

Lucky was a mechanic his entire adult life. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather always ready with a piece of candy for the grandbabies. He loved westerns especially the ones he has never seen before. He was always available to lend a helping hand to a fellow man in need, he loved a hunk of chocolate cake with a bowl of pinto beans and was always available to lend an ear or yell in yours when needed it.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5pm until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Friday at Noon in the funeral home chapel with Brother Doran Smith officiating.  Cremation will follow the service.
