Mrs. Marvolene Tanner Clark of Hazel Green passed away on Sunday morning at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was 90. Mrs. Clark was a life-long resident of the Lickskillet community and attended New Sharon School before graduating from Hazel Green High School. She was a Christian and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Mrs. Clark had retired from Chrysler after more than 28 years of employment. She then worked at Sir's Fabrics for more than 10 years. She loved Alabama Football, the Green Bay Packers, and was ready to go shopping anytime.
Family members who preceded Mrs. Clark in death were her husband of more than 50 years, Glen O. Clark; Her parents: James & Daisy Tanner; Her siblings: Kenneth Tanner, Jewel Rigsby Easter, and Calvin Tanner.
Surviving family members include her son and daughter-in-law, David & Diane Clark; Her grandchildren: Joshua & Amy Clark; Shelley & Andrew Janowitz; Her great-grandchildren: Kendal Christian, Colton Clark, Case Clark, and Andy Janowitz; Her sister, Betty Jean Flynt; Her brother, Billy (Cordelia) Tanner. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Bagwell officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at Noon. Burial will follow the service and will be in New Sharon Cemetery.
Mrs. Clark will be remembered for her sense of humor, her fun spirit, and her great love for all her family including her son, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and her siblings.
