Mary Joann Tillett
June 14, 1939 — March 1, 2014
Sister Mary JoAnn Tillett, 74, of Hazel Green, went home to be with the Lord and her husband on Saturday evening from her residence. She loved the Lord more than anything and was a faithful member of Briar Fork Holiness Church.
Mrs. Tillett was an only child and was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Tillett and by her parents, Doyle & Evelyn Petway. She was also preceded in death by her aunt, Vicki Honea.
She is survived by her four sons: James (Tammy) Tillett, Garry Tillett, Steven (Marian) Tillett, & Ritchey (Lisa) Tillett. Her grandchildren: John Tillett, Denah Tillett, Jay Tillett, Stephen Tillett, Ashley Ann Tillett, Ritchey Tillett Jr., Christopher Tillett, Robert Tillett, & Daniel Brooks. and 4 Great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5pm until 8pm at the Briar Fork Free Holiness Church. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11am at the church with Bro. Carl Simmons, Bro. Ronnie Sisk, and Bro. Mike Keel officiating. Burial will follow in Elkwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Tillett's body will lie in state an hour before the service.
