Mary Jane "Janie" Buck of Hazel Green passed away on Thursday morning while surrounded by her loving family.  She was 75.

Janie was a long-time employee of Winn Dixie Stores before her retirement.  She was a gifted crafter, loved Christmas, and enjoyed decorating her home in primitive country decorations.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Lee Johnston Sr. & Marie Daniel Johnston;  Her brother, Vernon Lee "Buddy" Johnston Jr. and his wife, Nancy;

Surviving family members include her husband of almost 59 years, Michael Buck;  her son and daughter-in-law, Mike & Ashley Buck; her daughter, Lisa Ann White; her granddaughter, Maci Fincher; her sisters, Theresia (John) Mullen and Patricia Lynch.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30pm on Sunday until the time of service at 3:30pm in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will then follow in Charity Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Mullen, Frankie Mullen, Seanman Mullen, Allen Jenkins, Daniel Johnston, and Austin "Louie" Lewis.

Janie will be remembered for her strength, for always being a fighter, and for always having a smile on her face no matter what.
