Mr. Tullys Maxcell "Max" Brock, 84, of Hazel Green, passed away on Thursday morning at his home surrounded by his family.
He was a 1951 graduate of Hazel Green High School - the first class to graduate from the then new red brick school. After graduation, he soon moved to the Chicago area where he met and married his wife and they raised their four children together. While in Chicago, Mr. Brock worked as a brick mason for over 25 years. In 1981, they returned to Hazel Green where he built a home and then started his own masonry business. He retired from the masonry business in 1998.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he loved mowing his grass and gardening. He loved the Hazel Green community and was happy visiting his friends at local restaurants. He was Christian, an ordained minister, and was a life-long part of the Primitive Baptist faith. He loved both the Chicago Primitive Baptist Church and Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church and his church family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy "Tim" Brock; His parents, Milan & Ethel Brock; His sister, Betty Knight Lee; His Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Anton "Tony" & Stella Lada Kowalski;
Surviving family members include his wife of 63 years, Roberta Kowalski Brock; His daughters: Gail (Mike) Decola, Tammy Brock, and Cindy (Mark) Webb; His daughter-in-law, Bonnie Brock; Eight grandchildren: Teri (Rick) Hollister, Justin (Nicky) Brock, Daniel Decola, Jamie (J.T.) Thomison, Karla Webb, Brandon Brock, Wendy Webb, and Jeremy Brock; 11 great-grandchildren: Ashley, Austin, Mahaley, Kalynn, Alivia, Aubrey, Jordan, Ethan, Addy, Preslee, and Braxton.
He is also survived by his siblings:

He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery on Stateline Road in Ardmore.
