Melba (Michael) Hunt

Melba Michael Hunt, 80, of Huntsville, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Leonard Hunt; Her parents, Coy and Geneva Michael; Two brothers, Ken and William Michael; Three nephews: Sam Michael Jr., Dan Michael, and Mark Michael.
She is survived by her three step-daughters: Terri (Greg) Gray, Mitzi (Sam) Williams, Cindy (Paul) Jones; 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; One brother, Sam (Lila) Michael; One sister, Carolyn (Wallace) Thornton; her sister-in-law, Gwen Michael; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Melba graduated from Huntsville High School and received her B.S. in Education from Trevecca Nazarene College. She taught second grade for 26 years in the Huntsville City School System. She served several years as Minister of Music and then, after marrying, she continued serving with her husband, Leonard, in church music.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:30pm until 2:30pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:30pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will then be in Nebo Cemetery in Lexington, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideon's International or Nebo Cemetery Fund, Lexington, Alabama.
