Melissa Louise Whorton Bates, 53 of Hazel Green, AL passed away March 21, 2012 in Kissimmee, Florida.A beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, she was preceded in death by her father Billie Whorton, grandfather Willie C. Bolton, grandmother Louise Bolton, and son Buckey Allen Bates.She is survived by her beloved husband Michael, son Christopher Bates and daughter-in-law Neeley, daughter Jennifer Evans and son-in-law Jason. She leaves behind her cherished mother Shelby Morrison, her aunts Dottie Tumlin and Debbie Bolton, her foursisters Rhonda, Tracy, Lee, and Kelly, and her brothers-in-law James, Shawn, Tim, and Greg. The light of her life and her pride and joy were her nine beautiful grandchildren Cole, Austin, Jacob, Traijan, Madison, Kaylee, Jordan, Jayden, and Haley Alyssa.She served 29 years at Chrysler. A strong woman with a soft heart, her beautiful smile could light up the room and brighten any day. The family finds comfort knowing she is resting in the arms of her Savior and reunited once again with her beloved son. Visitation with the family will be Monday 5 to 9 pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. No services are planned at this time. Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
