Michael A. Horton

Michael Horton, 20, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday.

He was raised in the Hazel Green area and attended Hazel Green Elementary and Madison Cross Roads Elementary.  He later earned his high school diploma through home-schooling.  He enjoyed drawing, writing, and listening to music.  Michael had a great personality and was very lovable, funny, and outgoing.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Timothy Ruffner;  By his sister, Jennifer Reid;  By his grandfather, Robert Owen;  His great-grandmother, Arnie Neely.

Surviving family members include his mom, Julie Ruffner;  Two brothers: Justin Horton and James Horton;  Sister: Kristia Ruffner;  His grandmother: Judy Reid;  Step-mother: Sam Neely.  He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening at 5pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 6pm with Pastor Phillip Eady and Coach Henry Phillips officiating.
