Millard AppelSeptember 4, 1916 ~ June 3, 2010 Millard Burgess Appel, 93, of Hazel Green, Alabama, passed away Thursday. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1916 and raised along the Chesapeake Bay. He retired after 43 years of service with the Amerace Corporation in Butler, New Jersey. He was a member of Harmony Hill Church of God in Park City, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam Hunter Appel; his parents, Rev. Charles and Louise Appel; his brothers, Norman Appel and Vernon Appel. He is survived by two sons, Mark Appel and his wife Sharon, and Matthew Appel and his wife Deborah; five grandchildren, Kristyn Appel, Katie Appel, Cody Appel, Hannah Appel and Ivey Grace Appel. He is also survived by one brother, Kenneth Appel and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12 noon to 1 pm at the Hazel Green Funeral Home. Chapel service will be at 1 pm Saturday with Pastor Ennis Hyman officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens. Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
