Mr. Edgar Albert Gamble Jr, lovingly known as "Eddy" or "Buddy", passed away on Wednesday at his home. He was 64, a resident of Hazel Green, and a part of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He left this life as a Christian who placed his faith in trust in Christ and is now with his family and other loved ones in heaven.
He was a 1969 graduate of Lee High School and worked for many years with New York Life Insurance Company and Columbus Life Insurance Company. He also worked for a number of years for both Comcast and Knology. He loved his pet cats and dogs, and enjoyed spending time gardening.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Elizabeth Mooneyham Gamble.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years: Cynthia Gamble; His daughters: Stephanie Greenlee & Veronica Pettus (Patrick); His father Edgar A. "Ed" Gamble Sr (Jane); His grandchildren: Jessica, Lauren, Jordan, Tatiana, & Tori Greenlee, and Marc, Elizabeth Ann, & Abigail Pettus; His step-son, Adam Likas; His sisters: Drenda King and Liz Butler; He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 10am at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Lon Ostrzycki officiating. A graveside service will then be held at 1pm at Bartee Cemetery in Lacey's Spring.
