Henry Clayton Rutledge of the Lincoln Community in Lincoln County, TN, passed away in his home Friday, May 08, 2015 at the age of 91. He is survived by his daughters Andrea Kay Rutledge of Florida, Anna Maria Rutledge of Huntsville, AL and Tina Rutledge Williams of the Lincoln Community; grandson Russel David Barker of Texas, and granddaughter Amanda Williams Bradford, husband Jarrod, and great-grandson Everett Bradford, all of Madison, AL.
Henry was born and raised in the Lincoln Community, the son of the late John Pierce and Lizzie Mansfield Rutledge.
Henry had an adventurous life, starting shortly after high school when he moved to Chicago. During WWII, he worked in several states for the US government in electronics and radio communications training for the military. After the war, he moved to Florida where he worked for Eastern Airlines. In 1952, his job took him to Germany where he met his wife Inge on his first day in the country.
For almost six years in the 1960's, Henry and his family traveled extensively around the world. Henry retired from SCI Systems in Huntsville, AL in 1998, where he worked for 20 years. His hobbies were photography and family history research. He loved cats and provided a home for many over the many years he lived in Lincoln.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Inge. A graveside service will be held at the Lincoln Cemetery for Henry and his late wife on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 2 pm.
