Mr. Homer "Buddy" Gatlin
February 18, 1940 — July 5, 2013
Homer "Buddy" Gatlin Jr, 73, of Hazel Green, left this walk of life Friday, July 5. Buddy loved working for Madison County for 57 years - 45 with the County Engineering Department and 12 with the District 1 Commission Office. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Becky Walker Gatlin. His son: Tim Gatlin; His daughter, Lynne Sharpe; Six grandchildren: Erica, Josh, Alyssa, Caleb, Matthew, and Lyndsie; Four great-grandchildren: Kattie, Blake, Nathan, and Becca. His sister: Betty Sisk Michael; Many nieces, nephews, and a world of friends.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Homer Gatlin Sr, and his mother, Mary V. Gatlin; His brothers, Bobby Joe Gatlin and Billy Ross Gatlin; His sisters: Annette Daly Kachelman, Inella Shephard.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 until 9pm at the Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor W.O. McCain officiating. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery.
