Jeffrey Blane Farris, 54, of Madison, Alabama, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday after a long battle with cancer.
Jeff loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; his family and friends with all of his heart. He was a strong, godly man who led his family in the ways of the Lord. Throughout his battle with cancer, he never once questioned God. He remained faithful. His favorite quote, by Charles Spurgeon, declared "I have a great need for Christ. I have a great Christ for my need." How appropriate for the life and example that Jeff lived. His sense of humor put smiles on the faces of many throughout his life, as did his gift for music. Initially a rock musician, Jeff made a transition to praise and worship as he came to know Christ, devoting his talent to the Lord. He loved the word of God, and leaves a great legacy and example of a strong Christian life. Jeff was prepared and ready to walk into the loving arms of Jesus, who received him home on Sunday, April 26, 2015. He will be missed dearly.
"And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6
Jeff is survived by his wife of 32 years, Eileen Farris; His daughters, Amber Farris and Brittany Benoun; His son-in-law, Brett Benoun; Two grandchildren, Bentlee and Reid Benoun; His mother, Mary Rollins; His sisters, Jo Walker (Marc) and Beth Farris; His brother, Jim Farris (Juanita).
He was preceded in death by his father, James Bryant Farris.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 2 at 4pm at Summit Crossing Community Church's Madison Campus on Governor's West. The family will begin receiving friends an hour prior to the service.
Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
