Mr. Jimmy Hicks, 75, of Hazel Green, went to be with the Lord on Saturday.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, the Army National Guard, and had retired from civil service at Redstone Arsenal where he worked as a Print Specialist. He was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hazel Green, he loved his family, church family, and classic cars.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Howard Hicks, and his granddaughter, Kelly Lake.
He is survived by his daughter, Denise and son-in-law, David Atchley; His son: Anthony Hicks; His granddaughter, Billie Sue Atchley; His grandson, Joshua Atchley His great-grandsonsAaron Piland and Tyler Atchley; His special friend, Pete Winkles.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11am at funeral home with the Rev. Neal Duncan officiating. A graveside service will follow at 1:30pm at Johnson Chapel Cemetery in Danville, Alabama.
