Mrs Sarah Satterfield

Sarah passed peacefully into the arms of our Savior on Wednesday evening, attended by her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Satterfield, her parents, Poper and Ida Blount and her sister, Regina Wood.

Sarah is survived by her daughters, Jeri Lynn Williams (Michael) and Christina Marie Newcomb (Jake). Sarah was also blessed by three granddaughters, Kristi Myers, Jennifer Correll (Jeri) and Lauryn Rae Newcomb (Christina) and great granddaughters, Courtney Sarah Watson, Alyssa Harrell (Kristi) and Laney Lee-Anna Cornell (Jennifer), her surviving brothers, Thomas “Buddy” Blount and Wes “Dub” Blount (Sandra) were able to visit with her on her recent birthday. Sarah’s dear friend and sister in law, Joyce Crim, opened her home to care for Sarah and her family during her final illness. Other surviving members of her family include brothers in law Ronnie and Lonnie Satterfield (Carolyn#1) and Carolyn Satterfield (#2) and Diane Campbell.

Sarah always greeted her many nieces, nephews and their children with, “Hey Doll!”. Sarah’s family also included her Concord Church family and friends. They were a source of joy and comfort to her. The family wishes to thank the many who visited, prayed, sent food and messages and provided such loving support during this time. Your care and concern has been appreciated. And to Sarah’s newest friends and caregivers, Marvalene Moyers, Leslie Shaver and Patsy Payne of Hospice of North Alabama, We are eternally grateful. We could not have done this without you.

Sarah was a strong woman who raised two generations of girls and was working on the third. She loved her girls fiercely, and they loved her. There were many times illness could have claimed her, but she kept going. And now, that’s what her girls will do. If you are from “The House of Sarah”, nothing less will do.

On Saturday, May 23rd visitation will be from 11am until 12:30pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home and services will be held also Saturday at 2pm at Concord Presbyterian Church with Rev, Buddy Alverson and Bro. Bill Phillips officiating and burial will follow in Concord cemetery.
