W L Kennedy of Hazel Green, Alabama passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014.
He was born August 1st, 1934 in Lola, Kentucky and preceded in death by parents Byron and Thelma Raymer Kennedy.

He was married on June 12, 1954 and is survived by his Loving Wife of 60 years Patsy Parks Kennedy.

He was preceded in death by one brother Byron Keith Kennedy and is survived by: Daughters Kandace Lee Moore (Alan) and Cynthia Kennedy Thompson (Mark); Sons Gregory Lynn Kennedy (Jan) and Michael L Kennedy (Marie); Granddaughters Lindsey Nicole Westenhofer, Morgan Lynn McEvoy, Sarah Beth Thompson, Claire Kathryn Kennedy, Lauren Marie Kennedy, Mallory Kate Kennedy and Hannah Leigh Kennedy; Grandsons Christopher Alan Moore, Justin Kennedy Thompson, Ross Matthew Thompson and Ryan Michael Kennedy; Great-Grandchildren Anna Gwenyth Westenhofer, Kaitlyn Nicole Westenhofer and William Curry McEvoy Jr. Brothers and Sisters Paul Kennedy (Janet), Randall Kennedy (Renee), Joyce Creek (Bob), Janice Moore (David) and Judith Kennedy.

W L was a graduate of Salem High in Salem, Kentucky where he was a member of the baseball team. His love of Kentucky never ended as the family purchased land and established a second home near his and Patsy's home town. Only his family provided greater pleasure than spending time at "The Farms". He was active in amateur boxing for many years both as a Southeastern Boxing League President and referee. He and Patsy traveled to shows throughout the Southeast including working the Golden Gloves at the Atlanta Olympics.

Visitation will be Sunday November 16, 2014 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Hazel Green Funeral Home. The Funeral will be Monday November 17, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Hazel Green United Methodist Church.
