Nancy Ann Burdette of Huntsville passed away on Monday morning at her home while surrounded by her loving family. She was 53.
Nancy was a devoted stay-at-home wife and mother and gave her time and love to her family. In recent years, after her children were grown, she gave her love to children as a Madison County Schools cafeteria worker - most recently at Riverton Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Violet Jones, her sister-in-law, Linda Callahan, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ivan Burdette and Barbara Dean.
Surviving family members include her husband of 34 years, Larry Burdette; Her sons and daughters-in-law, Travis & Lizzie Burdette and Christopher & Alana Burdette; Her grandchildren: Trace Burdette, Abigail Burdette, Abram Burdette, Dawson Burdette, Cowen Burdette, Sampson Burdette, Shiloh Burdette; Her sisters: Linda (Kyle) Hill, Debbie (Jay) Page, Janet Sue Thompson, Mary Ann (Charlie) Faulkner; Her brothers: Steve (Lee) Jones and Don (Julie) Jones. Her brothers-in-law, Jerry (Crissie) Burdette and Dave Schrader; Her sister-in-law, Rita Greene; She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12pm until 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2pm at the funeral home with Chaplain Bill Chapman officiating. There will be a private family graveside service at Rice Cemetery.
Nancy will be remembered for her heart for serving others. She was always willing to help, generous, kind, and hospitable. She loved watching car races, camping, fishing, and adored holidays with her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, especially her grandchildren who she loved and spoiled.
