Norma Jean Stewart, 77, of Hazel Green, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at Huntsville Hospital after a long battle with Sarcoidosis.
Mrs. Stewart worked and retired as a contractor for Marshall Space Fight Center as a help desk technician. She was a wonderful mother to her three children and deeply loved by her grandchildren. She was a homemaker when her children were young and managed the concession stand at Mastin Lake Park for many years. She was also a supporter of the ACE program that her grandchildren participated in at Hazel Green Elementary and of the girls' basketball program at Hazel Green High School.
Mrs. Stewart loved to travel and enjoyed many excursions with close friends. She was loved by her family and was a good and supportive friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tracy Stewart, by her parents, Gordon & Mildred Bone, and by her brother, Charles "Chuck" Williams.
Surviving family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Tami & Keith Tanner; Her son, Terry Stewart; Her grandchildren: Shawna Stewart, Tyler Stewart, Lara Tanner, Trevor Stewart, Daniel Tanner, and Ben Stewart; Five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. There will be a private committal service at Charity.
