Peggy Satterfield

Peggy Satterfield, 81, of New Market, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 4th, 2020.  Peggy grew up in the Owens Cross Roads/Big Cove area before settling in the New Market/Walnut Grove area.  She was a long term, very active member of Union Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years.  She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden, traveling and was an excellent cook.  Peggy was a big fan of Elvis and adored gospel music.  She loved spending time with her family and friends.  She will be missed by many.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Satterfield, her daughters, Donna Varchetta and Rebecca Clark, her parents, James and Josie Hillis, her sisters, Mary Sieler and Edna Sharp, her brothers, Marvin Hillis, Junior Hillis and Joe Hillis.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (& Jamie) Axelson, her son, Greg (& Joannie) Satterfield, her Son-In-Law, George Varchetta, her sisters, Dot Stokes and Glenda Shumate, her brother, Terry Hillis, her grandchildren, Shane (& Nicole) Scott, Cindy Scott-Phillips, Josh (& Stacy) Clark, Michael Varchetta, Hayley Clark and Allen Satterfield, her great-grandchildren, Drew & Logan Scott, Chloe Phillips and Jacob Bates as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Due to  Covid-19, the family will be having a private graveside service at Concord Cemetery.
