Ray Dean King, age 50, of Hazel Green, AL passed away January 5, 2023.
He is survived by his parents: Johnny & Chris King of Hazel Green, AL; children: Christina King of Hazel Green, AL, Judith (Will) King of Hazel Green, AL, Kayleen King of Hazel Green, AL, Kendra (Sam) Hill of Scottsboro, AL and Colby (Whitney) Martin of New Market, AL; sister: Tina (Tim) Walker of New Market, AL; special friend of 17 years: Angela Martin of New Market, AL; grandchildren: Gunner Green of Hazel Green, AL, Raiden King of Hazel Green, AL, Braylon Hill of Scottsboro, AL and Clay, Hazely and Ridge Martin of New Market, AL; nephew: James Ray (Courtney) Walker of New Market, AL, Johnny (Madison) Walker of New Market, AL; great nephew: Braston Cowart, River Cowart and Jamison Walker; great niece: Riley Shae Walker
He is proceeded in death by his grandparents: Charles & Dolly Burgess, Lurlean & John Roy King.
Ray King, to know him was to love him, he was a loving and caring father, son & brother. A man whom feared God and loved him to the highest. A man who worked hard and served as a custodian for 15 years at New Market Elementary School. A lot of words can be used to describe King but just one comes to mind and that’s righteous. A man that his morals were right in his life and it showed. It showed from the love and care he provided to his family and community. A man that would give you the shirt off his back.
As we lay him to rest our hearts are broken but we rest in knowing that he is in the hands of God and we have hope of seeing him again. He has taught us for 50 years how to trust in God in our times of need and as we learn to live without King we know God will comfort us in this time of need. We as the family would like to take this time to thank you for your support and prayers but most importantly your love.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2pm at the funeral home with Bro. Ben May officiating. Burial will follow and will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Tennessee.
