Rebekah Ann Patterson 34 years of age and resident of Athens, AL went home to the Lord, surrounded by her family, on October 21st, 2021, following a long battle with cancer.
Rebekah was born in Millington, TN on 5/21/1987 to her Parents Eric C. and Debra M. (Janes) Shaffer. Rebekah Shaffer married Joseph Lamar Patterson in April of 2013, joining three together as a family with her beautiful son Khy Christopher Brandon (Age 11). Rebekah had a multitude of friends and loved ones.
She had a smile and laugh that would brighten the darkest room. She was considerate and compassionate up until her call to glory. Rebekah was smart, loyal, fierce, loving and dedicated, and was the strongest person anyone would ever meet. Rebekah lived for her husband and son as well as every member of her family. She held strong bonds with her parents and each of her siblings. Rebekah enjoyed traveling every chance she got, doing arts and crafts, and spending time with her husband and son as well as her parents and siblings. Rebekah was the kindest soul in the world and her beauty and kindness was displayed until the end.
Rebekah was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Roland Janes of Memphis and her fraternal grandparents Edwin E. and Alma F Shaffer of Lillian, AL.
Rebekah is survived by the following loved ones: Joseph Lamar Patterson - Husband (Athens Resident) Khy Christopher Brandon - Son (Athens Resident) Eric C. and Debra M. (Janes) Shaffer - Parents (New Market Residents) Jesse and Kathy Shaffer - Brother and Sister in Law (Athens Residents) Rachel Shaffer and Mason Boudreaux - Sister and Sister’s Boyfriend) (Cordova, TN Resident) Benjamin Shaffer and Amanda Calderon - Brother and Brother’s Girlfriend (Huntsville Residents) Sara Shaffer - Sister (Toney Resident) Rebekah is survived by many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunts and Uncles and a maternal Grandmother (Betty Janes) all whom she loved very deeply.
Rebekah Patterson’s Memorial will be held at Hazel Green Funeral Home at 13921 Hwy. 231-431 N Hazel Green, AL 35750 Saturday 10/30/21 with Visitation from 11AM-1PM and her service will be held from 1PM-2PM. The graveside ceremony will be at Charity Cemetery immediately following the services.
Rebekah loved deeply and as hard as she was loved. She will be truly missed and never forgotten. “The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep”. - Rebekah’s favorite quote.
