Robert Dwain "Robby" Brady, 64 of Madison, originally of Hazel Green, passed away on Saturday.  He was a graduate of Columbia Southern University where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice and graduated from the police academy at Jacksonville State University.

He loved spending time on the water jet skiing and boating, loved driving his Jeep, riding his motorcycle, and spending free time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, A.D. & Flossie Brady, Doc & Katie Harrison, by his grandchildren, Brian Barnes and Christa Barnes, and by his son-in-law, Michael Morris.

Surviving family members include his wife, Debora Nielson;  His daughter, Christy Morris;   His son and daughter-in-law, Chris & Michelle Brady;  His parents, Earl & Martha Brady;  His brother and sister-in-law, Scott & Summer Brady;  His brother, Keith Brady;  His sister and brother-in-law, John & Annette McNeal; Grandchildren: Brianna (Shawn) Hayes, Katie Jo (Jef) Park, Cody Brady;  Great-grandchildren: Sayban Hayes, Grayson Barnes, Braxton Park, Jai Robinson, Cash Barnes, Addy Park, Lilly Park, and Colton Park.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mr. Brady had served his community in law enforcement as a police officer for 35 years.  He worked for New Hope Alabama Police Department, the Madison County Sheriff's Department,  Simpsonville, South Carolina Police Department, served as the Chief of Police for the Town of Rogersville, and then retired as a Lieutenant from the University of Alabama in Huntsville Police Department.

A Celebration of Life service will be Thursday at 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  The family will begin receiving friends at 12:30pm.  Burial will follow the service and will be in Bevills Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Cody Brady, Shawn Hayes, Jef Park, Ric Shurtz, Ryan Shurtz, John McNeal, Jared McNeal, Scott Brady, and Frank Tisdale. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Brady's great-grandsons.
