Robert Guthrie

Robert Guthrie of Hazel Green went to be with the Lord on Monday February 1, 2021 surrounded by his wife and loving children. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved laughing, whistling and big family dinners. He never met a stranger and he would help anyone that needed help.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; Sons, Robert Keith (Lynn) Guthrie and Gregory Scott (Kelly) Guthrie; one daughter, Robbie (Michael) Barbour; his grandchildren, Colby (Christina) Guthrie, Kylie Guthrie, Rachel Guthrie, Anna Guthrie and Adam and Audrey Barbour; two brothers, Bill and Jack Guthrie and one sister, Dovie Sledge. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Guthrie, his parents, William and Clara Guthrie, two brothers, Thomas and Frank Guthrie.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, visits, phone calls, flowers and food. A very special thanks to his caretakers, Patsy Payne, Amanda Towns and Tiffany Holt and a special neighbor, Marilyn Davis.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, February 3rd, at Plainview Cemetery with Roger Bates officiating. There was no visitation prior to the service.
