Robert Dow Pendergraft

Robert Dow “Pete’ Pendergraft of New Market passed away on Saturday.  He was 83.    Mr. Pendergraft loved gospel and old country music, his Ford truck, his wife of 64 years, and all his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Ola Kate Newgent; his father: Joe Wheeler Pendergraft; his siblings: Iva Jean Lamb, James “Buddy” Cagle, Rachel Lamb, Betty Jo Pendergraft, Alta Moore, Joseph “Mousey” Pendergraft, and Alice Fay Brewer

Surviving family members include his wife, Mary Lue Pendergraft;  his children: Debbie (James) Stone and Janice (Ricky) Lee;   He is also survived by his sister, Katie Jernigan and by 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6pm until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Saturday at 1pm in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jeff Wright officiating.  Burial will then be in Cochran Cemetery.
