Robert Smith

Funeral services for Robert Smith, age 70, of Hazel Green will be conducted Wednesday 3PM from the Hazel Green Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lon Ostrzycki officiating and burial will follow in New Sharon Cemetery. Mr. Smith passed away Sunday at his residence. He was a native of Madison County and was a diehard Alabama fan and loved fishing, camping and boating. He was a Christian and loved the Lord. He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Smith, his mother, Louise Phillips Smith and one sister, Faye Smith Bolin.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Patterson Smith, one son, Robert Dwight Smith (Deborah Jo Sharp), one daughter, Jennifer Smith Whitehead (Brian K. Whitehead),  grandchildren, Gabrielle DeAnne Whitehead (Joshua Martin), Chelsea Smith Williams (Ryan Williams), Nathan Thomas Whitehead and Taylor Shae Smith (Deejay Jarrett), great grandchildren, Alyn Reese Whitehead and Kayson Wayne Jarrett, his brothers, John (Sonny) Smith, Bobby Ray Smith (Betty smith), and Keith Smith, his sisters, Pauline Brummett, Wanda Goolsby (Terry Goolsby) and Nancy Smith, many nieces and nephews and his beloved pets Lucy and Precious. Pallbearers will be Brian Pierce, Jared Graham, Doug Clark, Darrell Clark, Nathan Whitehead and Derek Clark.
