Roy L. ScottDecember 28, 1922 ~ November 11, 2011Mr. Roy L. Scott, 88, of Hazel Green passed away Friday at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Scott was a lifelong farmer and producer of apples and peaches and co-founder of Scott's Orchard established in 1901, with his father, Thomas Scott. He worked along side with his sons Larry Scott and Tommy Scott, his grandson, Kevin Scott and great-grandson, Will Scott until his death. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Martha Ann Scott; his sons, Larry Scott and wife Joan, Tommy Scott and wife Kay all of Hazel Green, Alabama; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Lena Daniel of Fayetteville, Tennessee. He was a life long member of Unity Church of Christ at Taft, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Unity Church of Christ Building Fund or the Heart Association. Visitation is Sunday 5 to 8 pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. The funeral service is Monday 11 am at the funeral home chapel with Wayne Harvell officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
