Mr. R.W. "Pat" Patterson, 91, of Toney, passed away on Sunday morning.

Mr. Patterson was well known in the farming community as a farm implement dealer/salesman for over 70 years, mostly selling John Deere products.   He served in the United States Army and was a World War II veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge.   Having been born in Madison County, he graduated from Riverton High School.

Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his wife, Bernell Bellis Patterson; His brother, William D. Patterson, and his parents, Richard W. Patterson Sr. and Effie Owens Patterson.

Survivors include: His son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Donna Patterson;  His daughter, Sandra Patterson Franklin; His daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Mickey Smith;  3 grandchildren: Kimberly Franklin Pinkerton (Brandon), Michael Smith, and Michele Smith; 2 great-grandchildren, Nathan Franklin and Brandon Franklin.

He is also survived by his brother, Joe W. Patterson;  His sisters: Dorothy "Dot" Whitt, Martha Campbell, and Patsy Hodges.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Watts officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
