Sandra Ann Mattox, 57, of Birmingham, passed away suddenly on Sunday.
Sandra was born in Casablanca, Morocco where her father was stationed in the Air Force and later graduated from Butler High School and from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She was a Medical Technologist at several hospitals in Birmingham and Huntsville and took great pride in helping others through her work. She loved her children, classic movies, trips to California and the beach, and playing with her dogs, Max and Little Guy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Therman League.
Surviving family members include her daughters, Emily Mattox DeLongchamp and her husband, Paul, and Laura Mattox; Her mother, Gloria League; Her siblings: Clyde Jefferies and his wife, Terri, Sharon Warfield, Steven League and his wife, Cindy; Her nieces: Tara Fowler, Kaitlyn Fowler, and her husband, Michael; Her nephew: Adam Warfield; Her great-nieces: Chloe Fowler, Adriana McLaughlin, Michaela Fowler. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and by her boyfriend, David Murray.
The family will receive friends on Friday beginning at Noon. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:30pm at the funeral home with Rev. James Duckworth officiating.
