Sarah "Betty" Weaver, a long-time resident of Toney, Alabama, died Saturday, March the 19th at her home. Born on July 6, 1929, Betty was the daughter of the late John and Bessie Lipscomb.  She was preceded in death by her husband Buddy Weaver, sons: Gary, Allen, and Greg, brothers: James, Murphy, Charlie, and John Jr. Lipscomb, and sister Altie Artis. She is survived by son David (Helen) Weaver of Hartselle, Alabama, daughter Ann (Larry) Driver of Scottsboro, Alabama, and daughter-in-law Diane (Wade) Arnold of Flintville, Tennessee, twenty-two grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister Jewel (Joe) Maddox of Albertville, Alabama, brother Sydney (Nancy) Lipscomb of Mesa, Arizona, and too many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to count.

Betty spent her early childhood working hard in the cotton fields of Alabama, before her parents found work in the city. She married Buddy Weaver, and together they enjoyed many years traveling, camping, riding their Harley Davidson motorcycle, bowling, and gardening. They were also active in their church and Eastern Star.

Betty retired from Redstone Arsenal as a photographer in 1985. She was a longtime active member of Murphy Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed helping and taking care of others, especially when it involved driving to appointments, or cooking for those she loved! She enjoyed good food and socializing. She also liked taking pictures of God's beautiful creation!

Visitation with the family will be at Hazel Green Funeral Home on Tuesday at 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday at Murphy Hill Baptist Church in Toney, Alabama, with visitation beginning at 12:00. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetary in Huntsville, Alabama.
