Stan Roth, 72, of Toney, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening while surrounded by his loving family.

Stan was a kind and hospitable person who loved serving others in Jesus' Name, spending time with his grandchildren, and gardening. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served in Vietnam and earned the rank of Sergeant. He had also retired from Bellsouth and worked with the Huntsville Police Department.  Stan was a devout Christian and was part of Bethlehem Baptist Church.  He had served as a deacon for more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Roth;  His brother, George Roth; His grandson, Austin Stanton Roth; His nephew, Matthew Johnson;  His brother-in-law, MIke Wright.

Surviving family members include his wife of nearly 47 years, Debra Roth;  His daughter, April Roth Gulotta; His son and daughter-in-law, Brian Stanton & Brea Roth; His grandchildren: Branson Roth, Chandler Roth, Mya Roth, and Gigi Gulotta; His mother, Joyce Scott;  His siblings: Denise (Garry) Johnson, Sharon Wright, Melanie (Ron) Cook, Mark (Jamie) Roth, and Robert (Molly) Roth.

The family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at Noon at Bethlehem Baptist Church.   Funeral services will follow at 2pm at the church with Pastor Lon Ostrzycki officiating.  Burial will then be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
