Mr. Ted A. Baeder Sr., 73, of Hazel Green, went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning.  He was a 1959 graduate of Hazel Green High School and had retired from Sara Lee Bakery after having worked in the bakery industry for forty years.  He was a faithful member of East Huntsville Church of Christ for twenty years.

He loved sports and was known for being an avid New York Yankees fan as well as a Hazel Green basketball fan.  He held the record for the most points scored in a single basketball game in Madison County when he was a member of the Hazel Green Greenies basketball team.   Mr. Baeder, "Poppy",  loved his family and cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

Mr. Baeder was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Blanche Bobo Baeder, and by three sisters, Elsie Margaret Baeder, Jean Baeder Hastings, and Jerry Baeder Moore.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris Sullivan Baeder;  His daughter, Donna Baeder-Hammack;  His son:  Ted A. Baeder Jr;  His only granddaughter, Lauren Ashton Baeder;  His three grandsons: Trey Martin Baeder, James Douglas Hammack, and Thomas Jonathan Hammack.

Mr. Baeder is also survived by his special nieces and nephew: Jeanie and Wayne Doran and Sherry Thomas.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2pm at the funeral home with Bro. Bill Cantrell officiating.  Burial will then follow in Stateline Cemetery.
