Bud GriffinJanuary 15, 1939 ~ June 8, 2009Mr. Bud Griffin, 70, of New Market a loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend passed away peacefully at his residence Monday to be with his Lord, after a short battle with cancer.He will be deeply missed by his brother, sisters, nephews, nieces, cousins and all of his many friends who knew and loved him.He worked at Land of Frost in Chicago for several years. When he retired he moved back to his home town of New Market to be closer to family and friends. He loved his friends and would cut their lawns for them with great enjoyment.He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Earline (Tucker) Griffin; his sisters, Betty Ann Griffin, Mary Elizabeth Farrow, Margaret Ann Nayman and his nephews, David Shepard and Toney Cantrell.He is survived by his brother, Jim Griffin and wife Peggy; his sisters, Peggy Cantrell and husband Amos; Jennie Nayman and husband Jerry, Lula Whaley and a very special friend and caregiver Corrie and Jerry Jones and their children, Zack, Thomas and Millie which were his grandchildren that he never had. And several nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.Visitation will be Wednesday 6 ~ 8 PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday 1 PM at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lamar McGriff officiating. Burial will follow in Cochran Cemetery.
