Tommy Hickerson

Tommy Donald Hickerson passed away peacefully on February 2, 2018 in Hazel Green, AL at the age of 75.

Tommy is survived by his wife Mary Moyers Hickerson, children, Donna Hickerson, Tommy Hickerson Jr. and Michael Hickerson and his wife Meredith; siblings, Nelda McCulley, Johnny Hickerson and Cathy Hickerson; grandchildren, Kristopher, John, Kassie, Jessica, Jordan, Jackson and Victoria, great grandchildren, Khloie and Leela. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Ivadell Hickerson, brother Alton Hickerson and sister in law Freddie Hickerson

Tommy was born on August 16, 1942 in Hazel Green, AL to John and Ivadell Hickerson. He graduated from Hazel Green High School in 1960. After graduation, he began working for Kroger’s as a produce manager. Tommy is not only remembered as a compassionate and loving person, but one who never met a stranger and always had a kind word to say to everyone.

Tommy was an accomplished father, son, brother, and husband. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who loved his family and golf and who was passionate about the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8pm Saturday, February 3rd at Hazel Green Funeral Home. A funeral is scheduled for 2pm Sunday, February 4th at Hazel Green Funeral Home, with graveside services to follow. Reverend Cleo Moon will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tommy’s life.
