Tony Wharton
November 20, 1960 — December 11, 2022
Anthony Eugene "Tony" Wharton, 62, of New Market, lost his battle with small cell lung cancer on Dec. 11, 2022. Tony was born Nov. 20, 1960 in Madison County, Alabama to Lela Ann Smith Wharton and Albert Eugene Wharton.
He is survived by his mother, Lela A. Holder; Three sisters, Patricia D. Wharton Buchanan, Felicia L. Wharton Barbour and husband, Roger; Teresa G. Wharton Javins and husband, Mark; Son, Alan Eugene Wharton; Step-daughters, Melody Jackson, Nikki Huckaby, and Mandy Robin Beers. Tony is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Albert E. Wharton, by his step-father, Glenn Holder, and his nephew, Brent Plumb.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30pm-2:30pm. Funeral services will follow at 2:30pm at the funeral home with Bishop Harold St.Clair officiating.
