Virginia Franklin

Mrs. Virginia "Tennie" Clardy Franklin, 87, of Meridianville died Wednesday. Mrs. Franklin did volunteer work with the RSVP and in years past was an active member in the senior centers in the Meridianville and Hazel Green area. She also was an avid quilter and enjoyed crochetting. Survivors include her son, Jed I. Franklin; her daughter, Jan C. Franklin; one brother, Charles H. Clardy; one niece, Daisy Clardy White and one great-nephew, James Charles Arlan "Jimmy" White. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Franklin; her brother, James M. "Jim" Clardy and her parents, Doc and Daisy Manning Clardy. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Sunday 2 PM at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Paul Clutts officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
