Virginia Chamblee HoskinsDecember 23, 1919 ~ December 30, 2008Virginia Chamblee Hoskins, 89, died Tuesday in Cullman, Alabama.She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Hoskins, and daughter, Sherry Hoskins Kimbrow. Mrs. Hoskins is survived by four children, Jason C. Hoskins, Donald Hoskins, Gadsden, AL, Pat (Hoskins) Massengale, Hazel Green, Linda (Hoskins) Haney of Cullman; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 12 noon Friday the Hazel Green Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Hale officiating. Visitation will be Friday 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Huntsville Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests your donations to Madison Academy, Azlheimers Association, or your favorite charity. Mrs. Hoskins was born in Gadsden, lived in Huntsville for 30 years and lived in Chattanooga for 21 years and only recently moved to Cullman, AL, where she was a resident of the Cullman Long-Term Care and Rehab Center. Mrs. Hoskins was a member of the Mayfair church of Christ when she lived in Huntsville. She was affiliated with the original Madison Academy. She was active in several veteran's organizations in Chattanooga, and was instrumental in establishing a chapter of the Gold Star Mothers. She was active in making regular visits, providing food and gifts to area veterans. She voted in the Presidential race in November and has not failed to vote since becoming eligible to do so.
