William Alton BlairSeptember 27, 1928 ~ June 10, 2009Mr. William Alton Blair, "The Dr. Pepper Man", died Wednesday morning at his residence. He was 80. He had been a Dr. Pepper salesman for 28 years, a Martha White Salesman for 3 years, and worked at P.R. Mallory for 15 years.He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pearl Guinn Blair; Three children: Sandra Priest, Debbie and Roy Neutze, and Al Blair; Seven Grandchildren: Kristi and Mike King, Kraig and Tina Priest, Jason and Ashley Balch, Joshua and April Balch, Jessica and Ryan West, Beau and Shonna Blair, and Logan Blair; 7 Great-grandchildren: Hannah and Luke King, Kaleb and Tarpley Priest, Jayden Balch, Keegan West, and another great-granddaughter on the way, Charlee Haylen Blair; 1 Sister: Louise Worley; He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Harold Priest.Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5 until 9pm at the Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2pm at the funeral home with Rev. Dan Anderson and Rev. Charles Guinn officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Larry Beard, Jerry Gentry, Billy Harbin, Neal Hunt, Ricky Tipton, and Al Whiteley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Hughes, John Luker, Clayton Johnson, Wayne Roland, Roger Swafford, and Steve Willett.The family would like to express appreciation to the Wiregrass Hospice and Dr. David Showers.
