Wes Hyde

Mr. Joe Wesley "Wes" Hyde, 52, of Hazel Green, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020.

Wes was a 1990 graduate of Auburn University.  After graduation, he began a twenty-three year career in the United States Navy where he served as a Surface Warfare Officer, later retiring with the rank of Commander.  He then worked for several years at Larry's Pistol and Pawn as the range master.   He loved to travel with his wife and had visited many places over the last two years, loved spending time with his animals, reading, and recently reconnecting with friends from high school and the Navy.

Surviving family members include his wife, Jennifer McCleary Hyde;  His parents, Joe Mack Hyde and Ikey Hyde; His children, Ryane Dobbs and Matthew Hyde;  His uncle and aunt, John & Judy Hyde.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5 until 7pm and again on Saturday from 12 until 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services with military honors will follow on Saturday at 2pm with Pastor Brad Williams officiating.  Per Wes' wishes, he will be cremated and his remains will be scattered in the Pacific ocean.
