William Roger Brooks

William Roger Brooks embarked on a new journey with his father, William David Brooks, his mother, Vera Ruth Brooks, and his brother, Larry David Brooks.

Roger was a loving husband to Nancy Brooks and a wonderful father to Roger Matthew Brooks and girlfriend, Christy, William Jamison Brooks and wife, Lisa, and Adam Ross Brooks and wife, Lauren.  He was Popsy "Pop Pop" to Caden Brooks, Tanner Brooks, Ashlyn Brooks, Jase Brooks, Logan Brooks, and Richard Diffie.  Roger was loved by his brother, Jerry Wayne Chamblee and wife, Pauline, sister Judy Rigsby and husband, Jimmy, sisters-in-law, Kay Middleton, Jan Hillard and husband, Steve, Ann Schrimsher and husband "Curly", brother-in-law, Joe Smith and wife, Phyllis.  He was "Uncle Popsy" to nineteen nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Roger was born December 25, 1949 in Kelso, Tennessee.  In his 69 years, he worked hard at many jobs including farming and trucking for Taylor Brothers, welding for General Hydraulics, Dynamic Engineering, Government Contractors and maintenance supervisor for Wilson Lumber Company before establishing his own company, Riverside Diesel.

Roger loves spending time with his grandchildren, deer hunting, fishing, and spending time on his houseboat in Guntersville, Alabama.

The family will receive friends on Friday beginning at 5pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 6:30 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Benny Berry and Greg Shores officiating.
