William L. Moreno

Mr. William L. "Bill" Moreno Sr., 78, of Hazel Green, passed away on Sunday at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He served for 24 years in the United States Army where he was an engineer.   After retiring from the army, he enjoyed a 26 year career in civil service.  Bill had a passion for aviation and Alabama football, loved his family, and enjoyed traveling.  He will be remembered for his integrity and generosity, and for being the happiest when he was helping others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustine and Bertha Moreno;  By his brother, Augustine "Augie" Moreno; His daughter, Brenda Gillen; His sister, Sarah ;  His granddaughter, Heather Deweese.

Surviving family members include his wife, Alice Moreno;  His son, Bill Jr.;  His daughter, Vicki Richardson;  His daughter, Michele Moreno Myers; His daughter, Gale Deweese;  His son, Rickey Glenn Brumlow;  His daughter, LeAnn Brumlow;  12 grandchildren;  11 great-grandchildren;  3 brothers and 4 sisters;

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5 until 7pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Thursday at 11am at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in New Sharon Cemetery.
