Danny Lynn Selby Sr.

Danny Lynn Selby, Sr, 59,  of Hazel Green, AL passed away on the evening of Wednesday September 15, 2021. He went peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren. Danny had been battling cancer for awhile, but is now healed in the home of our Heavenly Father.

Danny was born in Hobbs, New Mexico to the late Marie Dawkins and late Thomas Selby on February 7, 1962. He married Marilyn Selby (Young) on August 24, 1984. Danny and Marilyn moved to Alabama in the 90s where they lived in a few different areas but ultimately decided to plant their roots in the Meridianville/Hazel Green community. Danny spent his life working in the cultured marble industry. When he was not at work, he was spending time with his family. Danny enjoyed music and loved to karaoke. He valued his family more than anything and built a beautiful legacy to leave behind. He loved being a husband and father, but his favorite role was that of being PawPaw.

He is preceded in death by his mother Marie Dawkins and his father Thomas Selby.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marilyn Selby, his children Danny Selby, Jr, Dustin Selby (Krista), and Kayla Cole (William), his sister Janice Mungia, his brother James Pace, his step-dad William Bill Dawkins, his 13 grandchildren Colby Selby, Serenity Graham, Gavin Selby, Leah Selby, Bella Selby, Mary Selby, Riley Graham, Eli Selby, Raegan Cole, Riley Jo Cole, Peyton Selby, Caroline Selby, and Braxton Cole, as well as several other loving family members and friends.

In respect for Danny’s wishes, the family asks that you come dressed in whatever makes you comfortable. Danny grew up a simple, county man who loved a good pair of jeans, a pearl-snap button down, cowboy boots, and his cowboy hat.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 18, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, September 19 at 2:00 PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home.
