Donald Ray Stone

Pastor Donald Ray "Donnie" Stone, 66, of Hazel Green, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.   He had served as Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Hazel Green since 1991.

He was a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas with a M.A. in Religious Education in 1982.  Donnie's previous three pastorates were in small Southern Baptist churches in Tennessee and Alabama.

Donnie enjoyed motorcycles, South Pittsburg Pirates, and University of Tennessee football, but the most important thing in his life was his love for the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Stone; His parents, John William & Margie Stone, and by his sister-in-law, Ann Stone.

He is survived by his son, Jae Stone. His six siblings: Roy Stone, Linda (Jimmie) Morrison, Johnny (Linda) Stone, Carolyn (Wayne) Rollins, Debbie Mayfield, and Sheila (Larry) Nelson; Donnie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.   Funeral services will be on Thursday at Noon at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the service and will be in Chaney's Chapel Cemetery in Dutton, Alabama.
