Lawrence "Wilmer" StewartJanuary 15, 1924 ~ April 6, 2011Mr. Lawrence "Wilmer" Stewart, 87, of Hazel Green died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was a World War II veteran. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Betty Sue Stewart; his children, Janice Wagner and husband Matt of Harvest, Rhonda Whisenant of Hazel Green; his sons, Rex Stewart of Hazel Green, Jeff Ralph and wife Sonya of Athens; four grandchildren, Christopher Wagner of Harvest, Johnathon and Jeanne Whisenant of Hazel Green, Maddox Ralph of Athens; his sisters, Rachel Wilson and Agnes Britton both of Hazel Green; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his first wife, Imogene Roden Stewart; his parents, Elbert and Mary Stewart; his sister, Nina Stewart; his brothers, Nolan, Wayne and Gerlon Stewart; his grandchildren, Damon and Shanna McAllister and Dale Wagner. Visitation is Thursday 5 to 8 pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. The funeral service is Friday 11 am at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Junior Plunkett officiating. Burial will follow in Bevills Chapel Cemetery. Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
